Long-Range School Attendance Boundary Map

This link takes you to a pdf map. You can zoom in or out and move around with the little hand cursor. Only major street names are on the map, but if you know the neighborhood or cross-reference a Thomas Guide, you should be able to come up with a pretty reliable boundary. It´s printable in color on 11 x 17 paper; anything smaller is pretty unreadable.

List of Schools of Attendance by Street Address * ** +

This is an alphabetical listing. Once you have a specific address in mind, you can search for boundaries on that specific address. This list also contains elementary school assignments, but I´d recommend that you check with the appropriate elementary district. I know that the assignments are accurate for the Hart District, but sometimes our neighboring districts make changes we don´t know about, such as overflow areas, etc.

Castaic attendance area: For the 2008-09 school year, incoming ninth and tenth graders will attend Valencia High School; all other grades will attend West Ranch High School. At present, Castaic area ninth graders are expected to be assigned to West Ranch High School for the 2009-10 school year. Once these students start at a school, they will continue there. "52" in the junior high column indicates Castaic Middle School.

Final Report & Recommendation (Adopted by the Governing Board Feb. 26, 2003)

* Posted lists are for reference only, and all boundary assignments are subject to confirmation by registrars of the affected schools. Information or clarification can be obtained by calling (661) 259-0033, Ext. 210 or 227.

** To find a specific location on the list you may do a search by street name. To do this open the List of Schools of Attendance by Street Address, click Edit, click Find (on this page), type the street name into the dialogue box and click the Find Next button.

Intradistrict Attendance Policy: We do not accept students from outside our district. Transfer to a school within the Hart District is approved to keep siblings together, to allow a student to finish at a school he/she is already attending or to take a required class that is not offered at the home campus. Transfers can be approved for other reasons, but there are no guarantees. Transfers are more likely to be approved from an overcrowded campus to an underutilized school; transfers into overcrowded schools are much less likely to be approved.
