About

Santa Clarita, officially the City of Santa Clarita, is the third largest city in Los Angeles County, California, United States and the eighteenth largest city in the state of California, based on the population estimate from the California Department of Finance. The city recently annexed a number of unincorporated areas contributing to the large population increase.

It is located about 35 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, and occupies most of the Santa Clarita Valley. It is a notable example of a U.S. edge city or boomburb. Santa Clarita was ranked as number 18 of the top 100 places to live by Money magazine in 2006.

Residents in Santa Clarita enjoy an idyllic lifestyle: a Mediterranean climate with close proximity to the ocean, mountains, and everything Los Angeles has to offer. The inside secret history that only the locals know (like where they wouldn’t build a house no matter what builder places a house on the land!), community support services (for those times your family may need a little extra help), school districts (which are the best for your kids and resale value of your home), advanced education and colleges (we have three colleges in the Santa Clarita Valley).

The valley only hospital, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, is a Joint Commission Accredited Hospital and serves the valley population exceeding 230,000.

Located in Valencia, the largest employers in Santa Clarita include Princess Cruises, H.R. Textron, Advanced Bionics, Specialty Laboratories, and Fanfare Media Works.

Other major employers include Six Flags Magic Mountain, several school districts, three colleges, the U.S. Post Office, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital and the City of Santa Clarita.
