About

Saugus real estate appears in a northern area of the Santa Clarita Valley, with neighborhoods and homes bordering Angeles National Forest. Real estate includes established neighborhoods and homes dating from the 1950’s. It includes much newer neighborhoods and custom homes and everything in between.

About 42,000 residents make up the population, with homes for sale in Saugus CA drawing in more residents yearly. Growth in both business and residential interests continues, producing more planned developments and self-contained amenities.

Saugus is Valencia’s neighbor to the north. There is no Mello Roos tax and the Homeowners association fees are either lower or non existent. Saugus has a mixture of older and newer homes with well kept neighborhoods. The schools are wonderful and parks and pools are abundant.

Saugus is census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Clarita, California. Saugus was one of the four communities (along with Valencia, Newhall, and Canyon Country) that merged in 1987 to create the city of Santa Clarita. Saugus is named after Saugus, Massachusetts, the hometown of Henry Newhall, upon whose land the town was originally built.

It is also where Saugus High school is located. The Saugus Cafe, on San Fernando Road, was established in 1887 and appears to be, by far, the oldest still-operating restaurant in Los Angeles County.
